New Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) Number Required for Federal Contractors in E-Verify
E-Verify will be including this new field for federal contractors using E-Verify on or around April 4, 2022.
The federal government is retiring the use of Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) numbers to identify unique federal contractors and will use the UEI in its place. Federal contractors must obtain a UEI from SAM.gov and update E-Verify accordingly. The UEI is a 12-character alphanumeric ID and, after registration, can be retrieved from SAM.gov.
Business Information Group will be in touch with impacted clients to retrieve their new UEI numbers.
For more information on the UEI Update, please see this release from the U.S. General Services Administration. For additional information on this transition, please visit SAM.gov.
