i9Success' John Mazzeo Reappointed to American Immigration Lawyers Association Committee
He is one of only twenty attorneys appointed to the committee.
John Mazzeo, i9Success' Associate General Counsel, Director of I-9 and E-Verify Compliance, has been reappointed to the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Verification and Documentation Liaison Committee for the 2024-2025 year. This is John's second year serving on the selective committee.
During his first term on the committee, John participated in meetings and roundtable discussions with representatives from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Immigrant and Employee Rights Section, and the Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer. He authored multiple thought leadership pieces that are relied on by thousands of attorneys who advise companies on Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance. John was instrumental in responding to proposed regulatory changes by the agencies during the prior year.
AILA is the nation's largest voluntary national bar association for immigration practitioners, serving over 16,000 members. Founded in 1946, AILA serves the public through educating attorneys, professional services, disseminating information, and advocating for legislative change.
John serves as i9Success' Associate General Counsel, Director of I-9 and E-Verify Compliance. In that role, he serves as the Product Owner for the i9Success suite of products, ensuring that the products remain compliant with ever-changing laws and regulations as well as devising new, innovative products to better serve our clients. John frequently writes and speaks on Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance matters and serves as a trusted resource to many attorneys and organizations on those issues. Prior to joining i9Success, John was an Assistant Chief Counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, DHS-ICE. In that role, John served as counsel for all worksite enforcement cases arising in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware, including litigating cases in front of the Office of Chief Administrative Hearing Officer.
John earned his J.D. from Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law and his B.A. from Ursinus College. He also serves as the Communications and Social Media Chair for the Corporate and Securities Law Network of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
