August 2022 Updates to FINRA Fingerprint Processing
A Notice today distributed by FINRA detailed a few requirements and policies that will become effective August 1, 2022.
The following are being implemented as ways to enhance identity and validation data.
Failure to meet the following requirements will result in a fingerprint rejection:
- Individuals born in the United States of its territories must have their Social Security Number in the SSN field.
- Hair color cannot be "Unknown".
Below are two field value enforcements as required by the FBI which FINRA will also recognize:
- When a height value for an individual is outside of the range 4 feet to 7 feet, 11 inches, FINRA will use the value closest to the reported weight within that range.
- The maximum weight that will be used is 699 pounds.
It is important to note that scheduling fingerprints with Fieldprint enforces the entry of a social security number, so this change will not impact your FINRA fingerprints with Business Information Group. Our scheduling website and any of our over 1,500 Livescan locations are also up to date on field enforcement requirements for a successful fingerprinting appointment and submission.
For more information, please visit the Fingerprint section of FINRA's site, or contact your BIG Account Manager or Sales Executive.
