Arkansas Insurance Department Releases Bulletin On 2024 Appointment Renewal Procedures And Timelines
Beginning June 1, 2024, applicable companies will be afforded 30 days to complete the renewal of company appointments via the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR)'s web-based platform.
Bulletin No. 2-2024 released on March 5, 2024 by the Arkansas Insurance Department instructs all applicable organizations to review internal records on its appointed Arkansas producers and business entities (insurance agencies) to determine if the company will renew each appointment. Initiating the renewal of a producer's appointment denotes that the appointing company has properly evaluated the producer's background history and fitness to continue to act as an agent of the company.
Appointed producers and business entities can be researched by visiting the License Division page on the Arkansas Insurance Department website at:
https://insurance.arkansas.gov/pages/industry-regulation/licensing
Please note that agency appointments are separate from producer appointments; a direct appointment for the agency and for each producer doing business with the company under the agency license is required.
Questions concerning this Bulletin should be directed to the License Division at 501-371-2750 or by email at insurance.license@arkansas.gov.
Companies are encouraged to review the applicable background check data and documentation associated with appointments on file to ensure fitness determinations are arrived at based on recent information. BIG clients with questions pertaining to this bulletin as it relates to their background screening program should contact their account management team for support.
